Cathy Jean Caldwell, age 73, of Huntsville, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, at the Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida.
LIFE
Born July 19, 1953, Cathy was the daughter of the late Verlon and Cora Smith Caldwell.
PRECEDED IN DEATH
• Parents: Verlon and Cora Smith Caldwell.
• Siblings: Sharon Reed Boyatt, Teresa Bridges, Ricky Caldwell, Wendell Caldwell and Karen Crabtree.
SURVIVORS
• Children: Shonda, Aaron and Shannon.
• Siblings: Loretta Thompson, Anita Barrett, Randall Caldwell, Darlene Ray, Wanda King, Wesley Caldwell and Mark Caldwell.
• Grandkids: Taylor, Roger, Justin, Molly, Bryson and Shyann.
• Great-grandkids: Everly, Trinity and Malia.

• Visitation: Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home.

Marvin Keeton, 70
Huntsville

Marvin Lester Keeton, age 70 of Huntsville, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026, at his home.
LIFE
Born June 10, 1956, Marvin was the son of the late K.C. and Nadean Keeton.

Nelva Phillips, 89
Wellington, Ohio
July 4, 1937 – September 5, 2026
Nelva Phillips of Wellington, Ohio, formerly of Scott County, departed this life Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026.
LIFE
Born July 4, 1937, Nelva was the daughter of the late Culm and Elsie Butler Terry. She was of the Baptist faith. At the age of 16, Nelva worked with a local doctor making house calls and delivering babies. She also worked at the Scott County Community Hospital for a short time before marriage. Later, Nelva worked for many years in Wellington at the Elms Retirement Village (later Sprenger Health Care). She also cared for residents at Weber Health Care and Kendal at Oberlin. Nelva truly loved her work and the many residents she cared for over the years.

• Husband of 53 years: Eldon Phillips.
• Daughter-in-law: Denise Phillips.
• Parents: Culm and Elsie Terry.
• Sisters: Nell Crabtree and husband Fil, Irene Lawson and husband Clark, Hazel Carson and husband Andy, Eva Evans and husband Hugh, Edna Dennison, Ruth Terry and Dortha Acres.
• Brothers: Buddy Terry, Elbert Acres and wife Pauline, and Edgar Acres and wife Mona.
• Brothers-in-law: Ron Roberts, and Ottis Phillips and wife Mary Helen.
• Sisters-in-law: Imogene Strunk and husband Roy, and Mae Elliot and husband Charlie.

Sedora L. Fancher, 88
September 29, 1937 – September 12, 2026
Sedora L. Fancher, age 88, departed this life on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026.
LIFE
Born Sept. 29, 1937, Sedora was the daughter of the late W.R. Goad and Juanita Duncan. She was a faithful member of White Rock Baptist Church, where she taught children’s classes and sang in the choir. She was a devoted follower and servant of the Lord Jesus Christ her entire life, and is now rejoicing with her Lord Jesus Christ and other family members that went on before her.

• Parents: W.R. Goad and Juanita Duncan.
• Sister: Rhonda Goad.
SURVIVORS
• Husband of 67 years: Ray Fancher.
• Sister: Beverly Davis.

Sedora’s wishes were cremation. A celebration of life will be held Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home in Huntsville with Bro. Jim West officiating.

Linda McCann, 82

August 25, 1944 – September 12, 2026
Leora “Linda” Cross McCann, age 82, of Robbins, departed this life on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, with her family by her side.
LIFE
Born Aug. 25, 1944, Linda was the daughter of C.D. “Bud” Cross and wife Alta Mae Cross. She was of the Baptist faith and belonged to the Black Creek Cross Road Missionary Baptist Church for over 70 years. Linda loved her family, especially her great-grandbabies, listening to gospel songs, and when she was able four-wheeling with her children and friends. Going to church and singing in church. She will be dearly missed by all.
PRECEDED IN DEATH
• Parents: C.D. “Bud” Cross and wife Alta Mae Cross.
• Son: Dennis Wayne McCann.
• Sisters and brothers: Violet Hill, Ruby Graham, Lora Mae Hull, Harlis Cross, Castel Cross and infant brother Carnell Cross.
